Ready to get started?
Step 1: Recruit a faculty advisor/sponsor - GAINS is school-based so you will need a faculty member
Identify a teacher or administrator at your school who is supportive of girls in STEM! It is helpful to have an advisor who works with students in STEM and is interested in giving time to the club. The faculty GAINS advisor provides guidance as you navigate the specifics of starting a GAINS club in the unique environment of your school.
Step 2: Have your faculty advisor complete the club registration form found here.
Step 3: Select your student leaders. GAINS Leaders participate in a leadership training program and meet virtually with leaders from clubs around the country to discuss STEM and share ideas! We recommend two student leaders - one junior and one sophomore
Step 4: Recruit STEM professionals from your local community to join our virtual community! We can help you reach out and provide text and guidance. General volunteer information can be found here.
